SolarCity is America’s #1 full-service solar provider, including the manufacturing and integration of complete solar arrays, with a growing list of services and products to deliver clean and cheaper energy to their customers. SolarCity needed a platform for research and development of new products that allowed for processing data from multiple high frequency data streams measuring energy consumption, solar generation, and device control signals along with the ability to monitor, report, and analyze performance over time. The ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on-the-fly was important for SolarCity to meet deadlines, perform meaningful business analysis, and take products to market faster.
Autodesk® Fusion Connect helped SolarCity create its first custom energy management product service to meet the unique demands for developing new energy products. This initial business application plus the flexible and expandable features of the Fusion Connect platform have provided a template for scaling products from early stage development to full scale deployment. Training from Autodesk® Fusion Connect-has allowed the SolarCity team to make rapid changes and improvements to the initial solution with no coding required. And now the business team is fully equipped to use the platform on their own to meet the evolving needs of ongoing engineering products and services.
